You’ll Need:
1 quart cornmeal
1 pint cracklings
3 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
? cup flour
boiling water
Directions : To prepare this Crackling Bread Recipe, first mix cornmeal and salt, pour over enough boiling water to moisten, but not enough to make a mush. When the meal has cooled, work in the crackings and the flour with the fingers. Add also the baking powder. Form the dough into cakes 4 inches long, 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick. Bake in greased pan in moderate oven for 35 minutes
